Project Description
Tikaperu supports the women working at the Casas de las Mujeres with a market for their handicrafts.
All proceeds from this not-for-profit organisation go directly to the project founded by Australian Sisters of Mercy in the Corn Hill/Tres de Mayo and Cerro Candela districts of Lima, Peru.
The main source of support comes through selling school scarves to Australian schools.
To be honest, this project is a labour of love.
I had the opportunity to visit Lima and stay with Sisters Tricia and Joan a few years back. It was an incredible experience.
I feel grateful to have a small role in helping the women who are connected to Tikaperu.
My services:
- Website copywriting – I wrote the original website (and I’m currently writing the new website).
- Email newsletters – In the early days, I wrote and sent a printed newsletter to schools around Australia to encourage their interest in supporting this worthy not-for-profit. I have more recently written and sent regular email newsletters to supporters and been the main point of contact between Australian customers and the women in the Lima workshop.
- Social media – I created their Facebook page and update that from time to time.
